About the Role

As a Caregiver Support Specialist at Life Without Barriers, you will provide personalized home care support to older Australians who reside in their own homes, assisting them to maintain their independence and quality of life. This is a permanent part-time opportunity, with hours available between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening, weekend, or sleepover shifts. Flexible hours are available, and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of three days' availability.

You will assist multiple clients throughout the day and be required to provide transportation for clients, so a valid Australian Driver's Licence and a willingness to travel are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Domestic Assistance: Perform light cleaning duties, change bed linen, wash/laundry, and maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • In-Home Supports: Provide meal preparation and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Personal Care: Assist with showering, daily hygiene, and monitoring of health and well-being, including identification of wound care needs and skin integrity.
  • Social Supports: Support clients to attend medical appointments, social activities in the local community, and build/maintain social networks.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, or similar) is required.
  • Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community.
  • Australian Driver's Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment).
