About the Role

As the Director of Social Work, you will lead a dedicated team of professionals in delivering exceptional social work services that prioritize patient-centered care. Your strategic vision and innovative approach will shape the future of social work within subacute services, ensuring seamless collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Leveraging your extensive experience to advocate for the well-being of patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and inclusive healthcare environment.

This role is responsible for managing and providing social work services to the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care, by maintaining a quality and cost-effective service, ensuring compliance with professional standards of practice, and providing consultancy to State Government agencies and the Department of Health.

  • Ensuring that service provision and activities are person- and family-centered and professionally conducted.
  • Promoting a climate where issues can be dealt with in an open, positive, and productive manner.
  • Developing budgets and monitoring expenditure against those budgets.

This position requires a recognized qualification in Social Work and eligibility for practicing memberships of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

About You

You must have effective communication skills with all levels within the Division, including staff, patients, and the public, as well as previous management experience in a health unit.
