Job Opportunity: Art Director
The Australian Financial Review is seeking a skilled Art Director to lead the creative vision for its lifestyle and magazines sections. The role involves overseeing visual concepts for print and online formats, ensuring high-quality content that engages readers.
This position is primarily responsible for art directing the AFR's weekly lifestyle liftout, Life & Leisure, and quarterly Fin magazine. Additional tasks include collaborating with editors and the editorial team to produce exceptional content, meeting demanding deadlines, organizing cover shoots, and conducting extensive photo research.
- Collaborate closely with Life & Leisure and Fin Magazine editors and the editorial team to produce top-notch content.
- Meet rigorous weekly deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Direct and organize cover shoots to capture captivating images.
- Conduct thorough photo research to ensure consistency with the magazine's aesthetic.
Key Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Proven print production expertise, preferably in magazines or lifestyle publications.
- A sophisticated eye for design, with the ability to redesign pages when necessary.
- Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines within a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and adaptability.
- Advanced knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
