Track Maintenance Specialist

The role of the Track Maintenance Specialist is a dynamic position that requires effective and efficient working as part of a small team to support the delivery of rail infrastructure maintenance at designated locations.

This includes performance of rail infrastructure maintenance, such as rerailing, re-sleepering and track/turnout upgrades, in accordance with established procedures and track standards.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Performance of minor maintenance activities and rail infrastructure inspections, as required, in accordance with established procedures and track standards.
  • Assisting the Supervisor Construction & Maintenance with the upkeep of rail infrastructure equipment and vehicles.
  • Assisting the Supervisor Construction & Maintenance with loading, unloading and distributing materials at nominated locations.
  • Undertaking administrative and recording duties to ensure quality outcomes and that correct information is recorded and distributed to the applicable stakeholder.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • A Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure (mandatory).
  • A Forklift License (preferable).
  • Strong personal commitment to safety.
  • An Unrestricted 'C' Class Driver Licence (mandatory).
  • Sound level of both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of rail infrastructure maintenance, inspection standards, systems, and processes.
