Medical Career Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced medical professional to join our team.

  • As a Medical Officer, you will be responsible for delivering primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards and legislation.
  • You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • You will play an integral role in assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and in the provision of care that will support the health and wellbeing of members pre and post deployments.
  • You will be required to provide medical technical advice to senior officers and commanders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards and legislation.
  • Form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.
  • Provide medical technical advice to senior officers and commanders.

Requirements:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine OR Vocational Registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years.
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
