**Job Description**

We are looking for a highly skilled Artificial Intelligence Software Specialist to join our research group in Computer Security and Machine Learning. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to building robust machine learning models and virtual machines.

In this position, you will work on developing and implementing machine learning models, supporting the development of attacks and defenses, and supporting the development of software tools. You will also be responsible for preparing supporting documentation and reports.

The researcher will work with domain experts on machine learning aspects of current projects at the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, which includes:

  • Developing and implementing deep learning methods to build robust machine learning models.
  • Evaluating the robustness of methods.
  • Developing software tools to support the development of robust machine learning models.

This is an excellent opportunity to advance your software engineering skills and contribute to cutting-edge research in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Knowledge in software development with a focus on Unix systems, Python programming, and an understanding of deep learning algorithms.
  • High-level written communication skills including the ability to produce hardware and software artifacts and write technical reports.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to tailor communication skills when interacting with students, researchers, professional staff, and external stakeholders.
