About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Global Conflicts Lawyer to join our team at Dentons.

This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the review, identification and resolution of potential conflicts issues with respect to clients, matters, and new business under applicable rules of professional responsibility and the Firm's global policies.

You will work closely with members across the Firm's Global Business Acceptance Department, utilizing available internal and external databases and other such resources to supplement analysis and assist with decision making.

The ideal candidate will possess significant experience and a proven track record in conflict checking, ethical wall and business intake software, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

In addition, you will have a strong ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization, influence others to move toward consensus, and demonstrate excellent customer/client facing skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with conflict checking new clients and matters across a range of different jurisdictions
  • Utilizing available internal and external databases and other such resources to supplement analysis and assist with decision making
  • Communicating with Partners, and other lawyers and professionals to follow up on and address all potential conflicts of interest
  • Preparing waiver/consent language, engagement letters or other such documentation for Partner review and/or submission to clients
  • Proactively communicating with department leadership on complex conflicts questions and other compliance issues

You will also be responsible for supporting on general conflict issues that may arise in any jurisdiction, assisting with information barriers and document security management as needed, and undertaking various related special projects as required.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A strong legal background, with a minimum of 3 years of practice experience
  • Prior experience working with law firms or corporate legal departments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage numerous requests
  • A highly collaborative and adaptable approach to working in a global environment
