About the Role:

Tradewind Australia is seeking a dedicated Specialist Teacher - Student Wellbeing to join an F-9 school in Melbourne's West. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing programs and lessons that focus on student wellbeing, covering areas like emotional regulation, resilience, stress management, and self-care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead lessons that teach students about respect, empathy, and healthy relationships, including educating them about consent, conflict resolution, and gender equality.
  • Encourage positive student interactions and behaviour, teaching students to develop mutual respect, tolerance, and understanding of differences in a diverse society.
  • Identify students who may need extra support with emotional wellbeing or relationships and provide interventions, possibly involving counsellors or external resources.
  • Demonstrate positive communication, empathy, and respectful relationships in your interactions with students, staff, and the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Must have VIT registration or be in the process of obtaining this
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia or have placement experience
