Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join our team at Sandvik. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to real-world engineering projects while developing technical skills and gaining industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain accurate engineering drawings and Bills of Material from engineering requests, client specifications, and supplier data.
  • Support manufacturing and R&D by assisting in design calculations, detailed drawings, and providing technical support to Sandvik's manufacturing processes and research projects.
  • Manage engineering data by setting up and maintaining materials, assemblies, and manufacturing details in SAP.
  • Collaborate and communicate with engineers, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical queries and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on engineering performance metrics, support calibration of measuring tools, and help implement new engineering processes and tools.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0–3 years of professional engineering experience; prior internship, cadetship, or vacation work highly desirable.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (injection moulding experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D; familiarity with SAP and other ERP systems; strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
