We are seeking a skilled Chef to lead our culinary team at Country Garden Indian Cuisine in South Australia. Our restaurant offers authentic Indian cuisine in a vibrant and stylish atmosphere, providing an exciting opportunity for a talented Chef to showcase their skills and passion for food in a growing hospitality business.

Chef Position Requirements:

  • Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to ensure exceptional customer experience.
  • Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies to maintain efficiency and quality.
  • Assess the quality of food, ensuring that fresh ingredients are served to customers.
  • Understand and use kitchen equipment, checking temperatures of heating equipment such as ovens and grills.
  • Cook a variety of Asian dishes and take responsibility for their preparation.
  • Taste food while cooking, applying a suitable amount of seasoning for a favourable flavour.
  • Present food attractively by adding sauce or edible garnishes to make it appealing to customers.
  • Store food at the appropriate storage space to keep it fresh and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients and cut food into the required size.
  • Understand customers' special dining requirements to meet their individual needs.
  • Comply with food hygiene regulations and provide training to fellow staff and new kitchen staff.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Hold an AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
  • Have at least 2 years of work experience in Indian Cuisine.
  • Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members.
  • Be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and handle stress.
  • Be able to commit beyond normal working hours as required.

Annual Salary: AUD 70,000 - 80,000. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
