About the Project
The Midland Station Cale Street Project is a complex design and construct project, delivered by The Midland Junction Alliance (MJA), comprising of Public Transport Authority of Western Australia, McConnell Dowell, Georgiou Group, BG&E and Arcadis. As the principal contractor, McConnell Dowell will be responsible for the construction of the Midland Station, which will be built in multiple stages to facilitate delivery and include the commissioning and interconnection of existing freight and passenger rail line networks and Final Asset Acceptance (FAA) of the works.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Supervisor - Buildings to join our Midland Junction Alliance team and become an integral part of this iconic project. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing input into the site logistic plan, assisting in the overall project management, and ensuring that subcontractors complete their work in accordance with the scope of work and programme provided by the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide input into the site logistic plan including site amenities, housing, entry/exit traffic management, cranage, hoisting, security, and waste management.
  2. Assist in the overall project management by constant review of construction methods and site performance and coordination of trade contractors against planned activities and programmes.
  3. Add input into the look ahead programme including procurement schedules and communicate with the project team and subcontractors.
  4. Ensure that subcontractors complete their work in accordance with the scope of work and programme provided by the Project Manager.
  5. Perform regular inspections on subcontractors work ensuring the work conforms to the specification, drawings and QA check sheets.
  6. Coordinate storage of MJA and subcontractors goods and materials.
  7. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the WHS Act, AHS Regulations, EPA Act and all Codes of Practice. Promote total job safety and environmental awareness by employees, subcontractors and all persons in the job vicinity and ensure that safe and environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented.


Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
  1. Trade qualification relevant to the position.
  2. Proven experience in fit-out finishes in a commercial construction environment.
  3. Ability to read technical construction drawings and a hands-on understanding of structures, steel, façade, building services etc
  4. Effective communication and negotiation skills to promote the MJA's brand and its vision to both clients and staff.
