Inventory Management Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of inventory balances and transactions on the Balance Sheet and Income Statement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform periodic inventory reconciliations to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  2. Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and Sales departments on inventory, costing, and customs issues.
  3. Work with U.S. personnel to resolve costing and invoicing issues.
  4. Ensure high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and communication skills in a minimal supervision environment.

Additional responsibilities include organizing annual physical inventory activities in multiple locations, ensuring compliance with internal and SOX controls during process.

Preparation of quarterly cycle count packages, including overdue counts, empty bins, and sealed cartons for internal audit.

Reviewing standard cost against last price paid for use by the business development department on a quarterly basis.

Process annual standard cost roll and resulting analysis.

Coordinate with Operations to update routing and bill of materials before the final run of cost roll.

Perform quarter end cutoff activities, including receiving and shipping cutoff.

Prepare necessary intercompany reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliations, tasks, and journal entries in Blackline.

Assist Finance Manager in updating monthly plant performance indicators to Industrial Segment, and annual package to Corporate.

Manage an inventory cycle count program and maintain level of accuracy and coordinate cycle count audit every three years to maintain cycle count certification.

Monitor regular and miscellaneous audits - including overdue counts on a weekly basis.

Prepare monthly forecasts/annual plan of manufacturing expenses and production/earned hours with Operations.

Explain variances of actuals against forecast.

Quarterly warranty and excess and obsolete analysis and related adjustments to liabilities as required.

Prepare inventory summary reports, labor, and burden reports, conversion rates on a monthly basis.

Analysis of inventory adjustments and blocked inventory on a monthly basis.

Work closely with operations, planners, product managers, in resolving issues.

Ensure that weekly broker's invoices are coded correctly and submitted to AP for processing.

Summarize daily Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) notification reports.

Work with Customs brokers to ensure statement of account reconciliation with CBSA is completed and the required remittance is prepared to CBSA on time.
