Pathfinders Australia is seeking a highly skilled Care and Development Professional to join our team. As a key member of our Out-of-Home Care Programs, you will be responsible for providing daily care, growth, and development support to children and young people who require accommodation and are unable to live with family or foster carers.
You will work primarily in the Individual Placement Arrangements (IPA) for 0-17 year olds or in our Short Term Emergency Placements (STEP) for 12-17 year olds. As a Care and Development Professional, you will be required to work shift work, including sleepovers, and hours will be on an 'as needed' basis.
You will work closely with team members from a trauma-informed and strengths-based framework to develop and provide safety for all children and young people in your care. Philosophies utilised will include Circle of Courage and the Sanctuary Model.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a deep understanding of child development principles and be able to apply them in practice. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with children, young people, and their families, as well as work collaboratively with other professionals.
This position requires a Working with Children Check, Police History Check, First Aid Certificate, and Driver's Licence.
