We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team in a part-time or casual capacity at Highgate Hill Doctors. Our practice provides high-quality primary healthcare in a warm, inclusive, and caring environment.
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for:
- Patient management, including greeting and welcoming patients, answering phone enquiries, making, and confirming appointments;
- Checking, processing, and managing customer accounts;
- Assisting callers with general enquiries;
- Maintenance of the Best Practice patient database;
- Processing and receipting payments using TYRO, DVA, Workcover, and Medicare billing;
- General housekeeping and upkeep of reception area and doctors' consulting rooms.
You will have:
- Minimum 12 months experience as a medical receptionist;
- Experience with Best Practice software (preferred);
- Familiarity with processing and receipting payments using TYRO, DVA, Workcover, and Medicare billings;
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality;
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Manage patient interactions, including check-in, check-out, and appointment scheduling;
- Process and manage customer accounts, including payments and receipts;
- Respond to caller inquiries and provide assistance as needed;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Best Practice system;
- Process and receipt payments from various sources, including TYRO, DVA, Workcover, and Medicare;
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a medical receptionist;
- Proficiency in using Best Practice software;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Able to work autonomously and efficiently;
- Reliable and punctual with excellent attendance record;
- Compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020.
