Regulatory Affairs Specialist
Job OverviewThis role involves leading engagement across regulatory bodies to ensure external relationships are supported by relevant subject matter expertise.
- Lead external engagements with counterparts and government;
- Contribute to Parliamentary processes and support public appearances by executives;
- Keep abreast of industry developments and monitor external regulatory developments, identifying those that may affect objectives;
- Develop and implement stakeholder strategies that support delivery of strategic priorities and manage risk to reputation;
- Contribute to policy work, as it relates to the operating environment;
- Partner with teams to deliver desired outcomes and engage across the organisation to bring together subject matter experts;
- Brief senior executives and provide strategic advice on handling sensitive matters with external stakeholders;
- Provide feedback on draft legislation to the relevant authority.
- A dynamic team player with demonstrated operational acumen, personal impact, critical thinking and judgement and technical expertise;
- Proactively identify key developments, challenges and opportunities in the external operating environment;
- Able to synthesise complex information on a range of topics and enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment;
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, public policy or law would be highly regarded; and
- Ideally, you would have experience working in or sound knowledge of the financial system, prudential regulation and/or the Parliamentary system.
