Early Childhood Educator/Assistant or Infant and Toddler Educator

Rise People is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator/Assistant or Infant and Toddler Educator to join our team. As a key member of our childcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to young children, while also supporting the development of our programs and services.
Key Responsibilities- Child Development and Education: Design and implement developmentally appropriate emergent curriculum, ensuring the health and safety of all children are met through Child Care Licensing Regulations and Fernwood NRG Child Care policies.
- Family Support: Offer invaluable support to families, promoting a child's social-emotional development through individual observations and activities.
- Team Collaboration: Build and maintain professional working relationships with parents/guardians and co-workers, while also contributing to a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with daily cleaning and sanitizing, as well as other duties as assigned.
- Education and Certification: Current BC ECEA, ECE, ITE, or SNE Certificate.
- First Aid Certification: Current First Aid Certified.
- Child Care Experience: Minimum 1 year experience working in a Childcare Program.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing with parents/caregivers, children, and colleagues in a primarily English-language context.
- Problem-Solving and Initiative: Ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, take initiative, and manage confidential information.
- Dependability and Professionalism: Dependable, including the ability to maintain good attendance, be reliable and punctual, and demonstrate a professional, responsive, and positive work attitude.
- ITE, ECE Certification: Considered an asset.
- Oral Communications Skills: Oral communications skills in languages spoken in our neighbourhood other than English, e.g. Japanese, Arabic, French.
- Experience with Infant and Toddler Development: Additional training and/or lived experience of infant and toddler development and wellbeing.
- Local Family-Friendly Resources: Knowledge of local family-friendly resources, activities, and supports.
