CSIRO Publishing plays a pivotal role in disseminating scientific knowledge through high-quality journals and books. As an editorially independent business unit, we are committed to excellence and integrity in science communication.
We seek a visionary leader to drive CSIRO Publishing forward. As Director, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of the business, leading transformative initiatives and implementing long-term financial strategies.
The key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership – Set and deliver the business strategy, aligning publishing activity with CSIRO's organisational goals.
- Business Transformation – Lead the transition to a sustainable open-access model and implement a financially viable commissioning strategy for the books program.
- Commercial and Financial Management – Drive the commercial success of CSIRO Publishing, identifying new market and partnership opportunities.
- Team and Operations Leadership – Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess deep industry expertise, demonstrated strategic leadership capability, strong commercial acumen and a track record of transformational leadership.
