Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled FREIGHT PLANNING SPECIALIST to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of freight across our network.

About the Role:

  • Maintain performance reports and record data for all steel movements.
  • Contribute to daily/weekly planning and review meetings with steel customers and operations staff.
  • Collect and collate data for financial/KPI reporting and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate various demands of the steel business to ensure agreed resource orders are satisfied.
  • Liaise with long- and short-term planning teams on deviations.
  • Liaise with planning services, terminals, and customers as required.
  • Liaise with sales team.
  • Address out-of-course requests by internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

You will have a proven ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers. A naturally strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, you will have the ability to listen, question, and manage challenging conversations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in freight planning is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business skills and commercial acumen for analysing operational processes.
