We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our team at TasWater. As a key member of our data function, you will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights to support decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data visualisation and reporting tools for various business functions.
  • Collaborate across teams to enhance TasWater's analytical capabilities and data literacy, driving data-informed decision-making.
  • Provide technical expertise on data process automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and provide training to ensure consistent use of best practices.
  • Support cross-skilling within the data team and assist in improving internal processes to maximize efficiency and capability.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, with experience in data integration and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, SSIS, ETL).
  • Competent in using programming skills in languages like Python and DAX, with the ability to build and automate data processes.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in dealing with incomplete or conflicting data to generate insights.
  • Experience in delivering effective communication and technical documentation for various audiences.
  • Experience with one or more utility industry systems and technologies (e.g., AVEVA PI, Esri ArcGIS, IBM Maximo) is desirable.

What We Offer

This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $104,000 - $110,000 (inclusive of superannuation). As part of your application, please provide a cover letter that addresses the following:
