Position Overview
The Aboriginal Elder Care Liaison (AECL) is primarily tasked with engaging local Elders, older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, and their families to enhance awareness of their aged care rights and benefits. The AECL will collaborate closely with the Elder Care Support Coordinator. Furthermore, this role involves assessing the local demand for aged care services, identifying available services, recognizing service gaps, and advocating for clients as necessary.
Qualifications Required:
- Must be of Aboriginal descent, self-identifying and recognized as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community
- Proven experience in a health or care sector role, particularly with older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations
- Understanding of or eagerness to learn about the aged care sector
- Strong skills in record management, data collection, and reporting
*Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax savings from salary packaging options.
