Meaningful Connections Volunteer Opportunity

The Aged Care Visiting Scheme aims to combat loneliness and social isolation among older adults by connecting volunteers with clients for regular social visits. As a volunteer, you will be paired with an aging senior to provide companionship and support in their home.

About Our Client

We are seeking a new volunteer friend for a female client in her late 90s who resides in a residential aged care home. She values having a social visitor who shares her interests, particularly cooking, and would love someone to discuss new recipes and food with. An upbeat and friendly attitude is a must

Your Role

  • Engage in meaningful conversations and activities with your client, such as sharing stories or playing board games.
  • Support your client's independence and well-being through regular visits.
  • Develop clear communication skills, patience, and compassion to build trust with your client.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for your client's privacy at all times.

Requirements

  • Live in the Bendigo area or be willing to travel.
  • Female, Maltese speaking.
  • Possess a passion for giving back to the community.

Time Commitment

We value flexibility and ask that you commit to visiting your client for at least an hour per week or fortnight. We want to find a schedule that suits both you and your client.
