About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our team at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland. As a key member of our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance activities will include completing assigned tasks, undertaking AMO aircraft maintenance activities, sign-off, and Certification in accordance with Authorised Maintenance Data (AMD).
  • You will interpret Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) airworthiness limitations from within AMD and apply them to the assessment of defects and imperfections.
  • Provide mentorship to subordinate technicians in their development pathway.

Accountabilities

  • Reporting directly to the Maintenance Operations Manager.
  • Liaising with Boeing, Commonwealth, and other industry teams involved in maintenance operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) is essential.
  • A strong knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework is required.
  • Australian citizenship is mandatory.
  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills is necessary.
  • Possessing an Australian NV1 Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain it is required.

Salary: AU$90,000 - AU$120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
