Perinatal Infant Mental Health Specialist

Role Summary:
- As a Mental Health Clinician, you will facilitate intake, triage, and screening of referrals to connect parents with tailored services addressing perinatal and infant mental health concerns.
- Coordinate care pathways through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, culturally appropriate support.
- Provide expert guidance and clinical decision-making for timely access to PIMH services prioritizing client safety and wellbeing.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local PIMH services and eligibility criteria, acting as a resource on referral options and pathways.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating Care Pathways: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including CaFHS clinicians, Aboriginal Cultural Consultants, and community providers.
- Providing Expert Guidance: Facilitate timely access to PIMH services prioritizing client safety and wellbeing.
- Maintaining Knowledge: Act as a resource on referral options, pathways, and eligibility criteria.
- Service Development: Contribute to the development of high-quality, evidence-based care and continuous service improvement.
Qualifications:
- Senior Clinician: Relevant degree enabling full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Nurse Consultant: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Minimum 3 years post-registration experience.
Skills:
- Comprehensive Perinatal Biopsychosocial Assessments: Conduct assessments, risk assessments, and develop individualized care plans.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
