Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the meticulous execution of complex design packages, ensuring compliance with design specifications, timelines, and budgetary limits while addressing various commercial, safety, quality, environmental, and community objectives.
  • Lead and manage the design process for over 190 kilometers of transmission lines as part of the Western Renewable Link (WRL) Project, with the potential to provide technical support during the construction phase if required.
  • Plan and supervise technical aspects of High Voltage Transmission Lines to meet quality standards and project goals.
  • Monitor the performance of design partners within the EPC contractor to ensure deliverables are met within budget and schedule.
  • Facilitate design approval processes for both greenfield and brownfield terminal station packages, adhering to project specifications.
  • Manage both design and construction phases, offering technical guidance and addressing inquiries.
  • Ensure design costs align with project specifications while demonstrating commercial awareness in client interactions.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of design standards, policies, and overall business practices.
  • Effectively manage client and stakeholder expectations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Oversee design elements of a +190km New Transmission Line and upgrades to existing Terminal Stations, ensuring alignment with project and AusNet requirements.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders throughout the design process to ensure seamless integration of assets into operations.
  • Provide technical guidance during the delivery and commissioning phases of terminal stations.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Building, Construction, Engineering, or substantial experience in technical management on significant projects, design, or construction.
  • Experience across multiple disciplines in Building, Construction, and Design.
  • Proven skills in commercial and legislative compliance, as well as design frameworks and systems.
  • Strong understanding and interpretation of Head Contracts and Subcontracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with major consulting partners.
  • Awareness of risk management principles and their impact on operational risk.
  • Proficient in relevant software packages necessary for the role.
  • Strong time and cost management skills to ensure timely delivery of design and effective management of design and project costs.
