Lead a Team of Educators

This role offers the chance to lead and shape the educational experience of students at our school. As Head of Department, you will have the opportunity to develop initiatives that improve student learning outcomes.

We are looking for a collaborative leader who can build positive relationships with students, teachers, and the wider community. The successful candidate will be passionate about creating an inclusive school environment that promotes student engagement and success.

The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing processes that support student learning, including Comprehensive Literacy and Project-Based Learning (PBL). They will also have a proven track record in supporting students with complex communication needs through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership to drive innovation and improvement in student learning outcomes
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure everyone is focused on student success
  • Supporting teacher capacity in trauma-informed practices, Essential Skills for Classroom Management, Zones of Regulation, and Restorative Practice processes
  • Developing and implementing Individual Behaviour Support Plans and Risk Management Assessments for Tier 2 and 3 students
  • Leading case management discussions and providing universal supports to staff
  • Supporting transition processes for new students
