About the Opportunity

This is a 3-4 day per week permanent part-time role, offering a rare opportunity to join a high-profile not-for-profit organisation in the Education sector.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled legal professional to lead our Corporate Governance and Finance Department. As Senior Legal Advisor, you will play a key role in providing strategic guidance on legal matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate significant legal documents, including contracts and agreements;
  • Provide commercial and legal advice on various areas, such as employment, governance, property, intellectual property, litigation, and regulatory compliance;
  • Manage and review correspondence, contracts, disputes, corporate governance, and other documents to ensure compliance;
  • Authorise external legal advice and assistance when required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or JD and a current NSW practising certificate;
  • A minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience, preferably in-house and/or private practice;
  • Signedificant experience in leading an in-house legal team;
  • Strong commercial and legal acumen, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
