Maintenance Technician

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general facility maintenance tasks associated with the interior and exterior of our health units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of facilities, including rubbish collection, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, and grounds maintenance
• Selecting, establishing, and maintaining simple gardens
• Installing and maintaining watering systems and formulating, preparing, and applying herbicides, pesticides, weedicides, or specialty fertilisers
• Performing advanced tractor operations requiring setup and calibration of a range of implements for complex grounds functions
• Providing assistance and guidance to other employees, including on-the-job training

Requirements:

• Prior experience in building and grounds maintenance, with practical experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, utilising initiative and judgment to ensure timely completion of tasks and activities as directed
• Sound understanding of Occupational Health Safety & Welfare acts relevant to a maintenance role
• Willingness to work as a cooperative team member

Salary Information:

$29.11 - $29.41 per hour + 25% casual loading (hourly rate based on industry standards)
