Apprentice Horticulture Career Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Horticulturist. No prior experience is required, just a passion for gardening and a willingness to learn.

This four-year apprenticeship offers hands-on training under expert mentors, equipping you with valuable skills and a nationally recognised trade qualification in horticulture.

You will work alongside experienced gardening professionals in beautifully maintained grounds with diverse plant life. You will gain practical experience working on maintaining and beautifying gardens and open spaces.

The role is located on site at a retirement village in Sydney and supports the high standard of maintaining the pristine grounds that the residents enjoy.

Key Skills:
  • Plant care and maintenance
  • Plant nutrition programs
  • Pest and disease management
  • Identifying different types of plants/shrubs/trees
  • Irrigation systems installation and maintenance
  • Specialist transplanting, hedging, pruning, shaping and mowing operations
  • Safety protocols and equipment operation of brush cutters, lawnmowers and other specialised tools

About You:

  • Proven hard worker and motivated to learn new skills.
  • Mature and able to deal with people from all walks of life.
  • Current drivers' licence (favourably looked upon).
  • Prepared to obtain a Working With Children Check, a White Card and a Police Check.
