About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented International Logistics Specialist to join our established Operations team. As a key member of the team, you will support the Operations Manager in coordinating the importation of vehicles, components, and related products, primarily from overseas.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and managing the end-to-end import process for vehicles and components, liaising with suppliers, shipping companies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Preparing and reviewing import documentation to ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade agreements.
  • Developing and implementing logistics strategies to optimise import operations, managing inventory levels to meet business requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and logistics providers, negotiating rates and terms.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with international shipping, creating contingency plans as necessary.
  • Preparing reports on shipment status and costs, analysing data to drive continuous process improvements.
Key Competencies

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in importing/manufacturing, particularly in the heavy vehicle industry, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
