About the Role

At Optus, we're committed to delivering exceptional network services to our customers. As a Network Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering orders, checking design, available infrastructure, fibre purchase, running & labelling of fibres, and make ready for service.
  • Work closely with the Global Delivery Centre (GDC) on ticket rectification, checking services, level taking, card swaps, basic layer1 fault finding.
  • Conduct periodic filter swaps, monthly generator testing, and corrective maintenance work with contractors & vendors.
  • Deliver new services and maintain current services, including site audits when requested.

Requirements

  • Hold a technical qualification (Cert III, Cert IV, degree, or diploma) in Telecommunications Engineering (or related Engineering field) or equivalent working experience.
  • Be available to work 24/7 year-round.
  • Have experience in fixed transmission networks with an excellent knowledge of network design and technologies.
  • Have a broad knowledge of critical infrastructure such as DC systems, rectifiers, batteries, PDUs, UPS systems, fire alarms and fire panels, HVAC, air handlers, chillers, grounding, DC cabling, etc.
  • Have experience in Fibre and Electronics.
