Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Bulk Material Handling Engineer to join our team at Hudson Australia. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in designing and supporting underground conveyor systems.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in the mining industry. You will be responsible for managing technical aspects of projects, conducting site visits, and leading tender negotiations. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring project implementation success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze underground coal conveyor systems, including power and tension calculations;
  • Use Inventor and ANSYS for 3D modeling and Finite Element Analysis;
  • Act as primary technical contact for clients, handle inquiries, and build strong relationships;
  • Collaborate with sales teams during tendering, prepare scopes of work, pricing sketches, and ensure client satisfaction;
  • Conduct site inspections to support project implementation;
  • Prepare technical documentation, including manuals and parts lists;
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in bulk material handling or mining;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and ANSYS for modeling and analysis;
  • Strong knowledge of underground conveyor systems, power and tension calculations;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a focus on client relationships;
  • Ability to travel for site inspections;
