Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our Sydney, Australia-based manufacturing team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering our cutting-edge defense hardware, specifically autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary engineering team to assemble and integrate complex electromechanical assemblies into our world-class products.
  • Build, test, and integrate electro-mechanical assemblies, including metallic and composite structures, hydraulic systems, and machined parts.
  • Design, prototype, and scale manufacturing jigs and fixtures to enhance build and test efficiency.
  • Contribute to all stages of the product development and manufacturing lifecycle, providing feedback to the engineering team on improvement opportunities.
  • Help develop, document, and improve our workflows and documentation.
  • Interact with our digital ERP system for work order tracking, inventory management, and quality reporting.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or service-related field, such as automotive, marine, aerospace, or industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation, including mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics, electrical diagrams, etc.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes, hand tool use, and plastic/metal/composite part assembly.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality products and a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Familiarity with building and maintaining electromechanical systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
  • Eligibility to obtain a NV1 security clearance (status not required at time of hire).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in mechatronics and robotics, particularly with drones, AUVs, or autonomous equipment.
  • Proficiency with electrical debugging and software installation for testing.
  • Machining and/or 3D printing experience.
  • Prior experience working with JIRA, Teamcenter (PLM), or NetSuite (ERP) or equivalents.
  • Experience with low-volume/high-mix manufacturing.
