About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Darebin team as a Community Support Specialist. In this role, you will provide support to senior clients and their carers, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Domestic Assistance: Provide assistance with household tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and toilets, changing bed linen, clothes washing, dusting, and ironing, as outlined in the client's service plan.
  • Personal Care: Assist with showering, dressing, and grooming.
  • Shopping Support and Individual Social Support: Escort clients on community outings, such as shopping trips, excursions, lunches, and appointments.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare light meals and serve meals to clients.
  • Maintain Client Independence and Safety: Monitor the well-being of clients and report any significant changes in health, behavior, or social conditions.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
  • Victorian Driver's License.
  • Own vehicle for work use (comprehensively insured).
  • Current Level 2 First Aid/CPR training certificate.
  • Current Employee Working with Children Card.
