At Southern Cross Care, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Enrolled Nurse to join our team in Victor Harbor.

About the Role

This rewarding position involves delivering high-quality nursing care while supervising and guiding personal care workers. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will play a vital role in improving resident quality of life by promoting independence, confidence, and engagement in meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote independence and support residents in regaining their confidence and participating in engaging activities.
  • Collaborate positively with other staff and qualified practitioners to provide proactive, person-centred service and support that is safe and effective for residents.
  • Administer medications in a timely and safe manner in accordance with your scope of practice, and advise Registered Nurses of any concerns or adverse reactions.
  • Provide guidance, direction, support, mentoring, and coaching to Personal Carers as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of contemporary best practice clinical care within the scope of enrolled nursing practice.
  • Report any potential risks that may cause accidents or injuries.
  • Keep detailed records and ensure comprehensive handovers between shifts.
About You

We are looking for an individual who shares our values of Service, Courage, and Compassion. The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Diploma of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) and Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working as an Enrolled Nurse in an Aged Care Environment.
  • Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables clear communication with older people.
  • The ability to read written instructions and write clearly and concisely, particularly in progress notes.
  • Exceptional time management skills to manage your workload and support other staff.
  • A high-level understanding of supporting residents living with dementia, including those displaying challenging behaviours.
  • Sound knowledge of Aged Care Standards, particularly in relation to accreditation.
