Job Overview:

This is a pivotal role in the testing, repair, installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems on mine sites.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Installation, and commissioning of Electrical equipment Underground
  • Onsite electrical auditing, testing, breakdown assistance, commissioning and installation of various systems
  • Providing face to face support to clients
  • Working individually and in small teams across a wide range of mine sites
  • Providing timely and quality service-related reports following any site work completed.

Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A strong focus on safety as a core value
  • Experience with HV electrical equipment and systems specific to mining and utilities (including diagnosis and fault finding)
  • Experience with Underground coal longwall systems (Ampcontrol controlled systems are an advantage)
  • Experience with IMAC and Gasguard systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of explosion protection techniques
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards such as AS3800, AS4871, AS2290
  • Good report writing skills (essential)
  • A task focused approach
  • The ability to make informed decisions
  • A commitment to providing exceptional client and customer service
  • Comfortable with travel and being away from home for extended periods

Desirable Qualifications:

An electrical trade qualification, Hazardous Area Competencies and HV Switching certificate would be advantageous.
