Job Overview

Optimizing radiographic imaging and services is paramount to specialized procedures within the Angiography Suite. As a Senior Medical Imaging Technician, you will provide exceptional care in accordance with radiation safety standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting cardiology and vascular requests to execute advanced procedures as per Radiation Safety Act and hospital policies.
  • Programming and operating radiographic and associated fixed and mobile equipment for optimal diagnostic and interventional imaging.
  • Evaluating and recommending new techniques and procedures in collaboration with senior angiography suite caregivers and clinicians.
  • Supervising caregivers to ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety, Radiation Safety, and other relevant legislation.

Requirements

A tertiary qualification in medical imaging (Bachelor of Applied Science – Medical Imaging or equivalent) is essential. Additionally, eligibility for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia and licensing with the WA Radiological Council are required.

Significant experience in advanced practice skills and a thorough knowledge of radiographic principles, procedures, and standards are also necessary.
