About the Role:

In this role, you will oversee a specific section of works and provide valuable insights to key operational stakeholders through data analysis to influence decision-making.

You will thrive on building relationships and working collaboratively with both the broader business and external stakeholders.

You will contribute to enhancing the governance environment of a joint venture (JV) with a contract term of up to 15 years.

You will also have the opportunity to assume the responsibilities of a Finance Manager during periods of absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze actual, forecast, and budget information for submission to the Finance Manager and Project Team Leads.
  2. Maintain ledger accounts, including project sub-ledgers and balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Assist in the submission of monthly payment claims and invoicing to the client.
  4. Conduct detailed analytical reporting of project performance and provide insights and opportunities.
  5. Prepare monthly reports with insights and commentary for internal management, the client, Finance Steering Committee, and Board of Directors.
  6. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
  7. Ensure adherence to the Financial Management Plan and analyze project costings for reliable forecasts.
  8. Review and improve key financial processes and develop new Finance dashboards.
  9. Lead the maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations and support annual external and internal audits.
  10. Support best practice inventory processes and ensure accurate costing from inventory to projects.

About You:

We are seeking an experienced professional who has:

  • Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or higher qualification.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a project-related finance/accounting role, preferably in the construction or services industry.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Able to show initiative and demonstrate high-level organizational skills, including being able to work to deadlines, prioritize work, and manage multiple matters concurrently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical eye for resolving complex issues and guiding others with a non-financial background.
  • High level of written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across levels of the organization.
