Senior Insurance Wordings Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable individual to join our International Wordings team as a Senior Insurance Wordings Specialist.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse and review existing and new products, including analysis and explanation of individual clauses right through to entire product wordings;
  • Create and innovate insurance products from scratch or refine/expand existing ones;
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Wordings team, Legal Department, and beyond to deliver on team goals and service delivery requirements;
  • Provide pre-bind and post-bind technical wording advice to underwriters and brokers;
  • Support underwriters in achieving underwriting discipline through coverage analysis and offering robust wording solutions.

You will be an integral part of the team and the wider Legal department, supporting the underwriting business across all product lines covering complex risks. You will report to the Wordings Manager based in Europe, with support from local Legal & Compliance in Sydney.

About You:

  • Ability to interpret and analyse insurance clause and/or wording requests;
  • Confidence to deliver group-driven wording mandates alongside individual wording solutions;
  • In-depth understanding of standard clauses used in the Australian market and class-specific wording structures;
  • Able to plan and self-manage workload, work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines;
  • Experience in working with insurance wordings, preferably in the wholesale/commercial sector.
