Veterinary Public Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly qualified epidemiology and veterinary public health professional to join our faculty. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching veterinary public health and epidemiology courses to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach veterinary public health and epidemiology courses, including quantitative epidemiology, disease surveillance and control, outbreak investigation, zoonotic and foodborne diseases.
- Participate in other team-taught didactic courses as needed.
- Contribute to research-active faculty in study design and data analysis.
- Add to the research expansion of our institution.
- Forge collaborations with relevant partners to provide maximum impact for our programs.
- Engage in service activities, including meetings and designated office hours.
- Serve on postgraduate committees for graduate students.
- Complete other duties as determined by the Department Head.
Qualifications:
- A DVM or comparable degree is essential.
- A PhD is highly desirable, as is graduate training in epidemiology and/or veterinary preventive medicine.
- Demonstrated competency in teaching students, including large class sizes.
- Experience in various areas of veterinary epidemiology, such as observational and experimental epidemiologic studies, animal infectious diseases modeling, disease surveillance, molecular epidemiology, diagnostic test result evaluation, and information technology.
- Research publications in a relevant field of veterinary medicine, as well as potential to collaborate in research or develop an independent research program.
- A strong commitment to student-centered learning and excellent interpersonal skills.
