Arrears Resolution Specialist

This role focuses on the timely and efficient collection of outstanding payments to minimize costs and optimize returns while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and categorizing arrears into technical/administrative and credit categories for effective follow-up.
  • Communicating with debtors via phone and written correspondence to resolve arrears.
  • Monitoring debtor payment behavior and evaluating credit risk exposure, ensuring accurate categorization.
  • Making payment agreements, determining approaches, and ensuring conditional payments. Legal action may be initiated when necessary.
  • Reporting on development and recording debtor and arrears history in relevant systems.

This position requires strong communication skills, both internally and externally, as well as excellent written and verbal abilities. Organizational and prioritization skills are also essential to assist the team in meeting objectives. A consultative approach is required, with a focus on teamwork and sharing knowledge to build a culture of risk management balanced with commercial goals. Relevant qualifications include a degree or studies in accounting, finance, commerce, or related fields.
