The Role

This position requires the Head of Integrated Commercial Operations to oversee the optimization of asset operations over the long, medium, and short term, effectively responding to market conditions and delivering risk-adjusted optimal returns. This involves collaborating with Operations to ensure seamless and efficient performance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in energy markets, trading rooms or control rooms, preferably within the renewable energy or utilities sector. A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, economics, finance, energy management, or a related field is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Processes, Systems, and Resources
  • Lead and Mentor a Team of Spot Traders
  • Collaborate with Trading, Portfolio Management, and Risk Teams
  • Ensure Compliance with Risk Limits and Trading Control Procedures
  • Monitor Market Trends and Regulatory Developments
  • Drive Operational Excellence through Continuous Improvement Initiatives

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive Experience in Energy Markets, Trading Rooms or Control Rooms
  • Experience in Setting Up a Control Environment and Managing Staff on a Roster
  • Deep Knowledge of Energy Markets and Related Systems
  • Experience Managing Assets and Building Relationships with Operational Staff
  • Knowledge of Hedging Strategies and Risk Mitigation in Volatile Energy Markets
  • Familiarity with Renewable Technologies and Their Integration into Energy Markets
  • Advanced Proficiency in Analytical Tools and Platforms
  • Strong Skills in Financial Modelling, Forecasting, and Scenario Analysis
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
