About This Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and client-focused Dental Assistant to support students and UQ clinical staff at our esteemed Oral Health Centre.

As a key member of our team, you will represent the School in a friendly and professional way, focusing on providing excellent customer service to patients, students, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Booking, receiving, and preparing patients for treatment.
  • Assisting staff and students in dental treatments and procedures.
  • Preparing and cleaning instruments and equipment before and after treatments.
  • Assisting with collection, labelling, and dispatch of study models, specimens, and dental work to laboratories.
Clinical Operations
  • Ensuring optimal patient treatment and smooth running of the clinic.
  • Ensuring safe disposal of hazardous or toxic waste and material.
  • Maintaining accurate clinic records.
  • Providing support and guidance to staff and students on the use of the Patient Management System.

About You
  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
  • Demonstrated experience in dental assisting.
  • A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity when required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues and students, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a professional standard and present a professional image.
