Mechanical Plant Maintenance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and conduct corrective maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment with minimal downtime in a maritime environment.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with maintenance instructions and maintain accurate records in the maintenance management system.
  • Inspect work to ensure it meets all quality specifications and standards.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning and testing of new equipment as required.
  • Perform general duties while adhering to all site safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical or Hydraulic Fitter.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Confident in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to assemble and fit mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Ability to inspect work to ensure it meets specifications.
  • Experience in recording and documenting results and tolerances.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and safe work practices.
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems and general computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to liaise effectively with supporting contractors (as required).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High Risk Work Licences (e.g., Rigging, Forklift, EWP) and Working at Heights certification are advantageous.
