Your Role

As a Student Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of young people. In this position, you will be responsible for providing tailored assistance to students, helping them to achieve their goals and overcome challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

- Offer one-on-one academic and pastoral support to students, identifying their needs and guiding them towards appropriate resources and services.

- Develop and deliver engaging group activities, workshops, and programs to enhance students' personal and life skills.

- Maintain detailed case notes and records to monitor student progress and ensure effective case management.

- Liaise with teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders to coordinate a collaborative approach to supporting each student's wellbeing and development.

- Actively participate in the planning and implementation of school holiday programs and other special events.

Criteria

- Relevant tertiary qualification in education, social work, youth work, or a related field.

- Experience working with young people, particularly in a student support, mentoring, or community development capacity.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.

- Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to manage a varied caseload.
