Hospital Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hospital Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic team, you will be responsible for performing manual and automated diagnostic testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine procedures from specimen reception to result execution for pathological diagnosis
• Assist with stock control and maintain current scientific knowledge
• Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to continuous improvement
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding test results and referrals
• Comply with policies, procedures, and quality assurance processes

About You

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Science
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Haematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Transfusion Medicine
• Sound knowledge of QC, QAP, and troubleshooting
• Ability to identify and implement quality and service improvement activities
• Strong time management, interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
