Research Fellow in Computational Statistics

The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics at the University of Wollongong is seeking a highly skilled Associate Research Fellow in Computational Statistics to join our team. This is a fixed-term, full-time appointment for two years, commencing by March 2025.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective Bayesian computational strategies for high-dimensional statistical models.
- Conduct research in statistical methodology and statistical computing within the initiative "Advanced Computationally Intensive Methods for Bayesian Analysis of High-dimensional Models."
- Collaborate with Professor Sumeetpal Singh to devise and implement Markov Chain Monte Carlo and Sequential Monte Carlo methods for high-dimensional statistical models.
- Contribute to the supervision of an associated doctoral research studentship.
- PhD in Statistics, Computational Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in Bayesian statistics, high-dimensional statistical modeling, and computational methods.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with a track record of high-quality research publications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
