Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to deliver our Work Ready, Release Ready (WRRR) service throughout the Adelaide Metropolitan area. As a key member of our team, you will support prisoners both pre-release and post-release from local prisons under the WRRR program.

The successful candidate will work with prisoners pre and post release to engage in services that enable a smooth transition into society, with the aim of preventing re-offending. This will involve delivering sessions that prepare prisoners for release, case managing prisoners, and identifying and addressing vocational and non-vocational support post release to ex-offenders. You will also source and support employment placement and six months or more of post-placement mentoring.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An understanding of the impacts of intergenerational trauma and its effects on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons and their families.
  • Able to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, while respecting traditional culture and values.
  • A strong passion and drive for helping people find employment.
  • Collaborative interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships.
  • Ability to have a yarn with customers to assess, match and refer to appropriate job opportunities and talk them up directly to employers.
  • Ability to work hard and achieve your targets to work to clearly defined KPIs.
  • Able to use a computer (Word, Outlook, Excel) and have a good typing speed.
  • Able to show strong administration skills and experience with data entry.
  • Understands the importance of attention to detail and able to work under pressure.
  • Experience working in the prison system or with ex-offenders is desired.

  • Hold a current driver's license.
  • Pass a National Police Check and Vulnerable Persons Check.
  • Have qualifications in Employment Services, social sciences with a minimum Certificate IV in a relevant discipline or willingness to study with assistance.
