About the Role

Pioneer Water Tanks is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Estimating Professional to join their team at their Bellevue, WA location. This individual will provide accurate and timely package estimates for commercial clients, dealers, and export customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide input on project 'buildability' during the design phase to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Review preliminary specifications and drawings to determine scope of works.
  • Develop project scope in consultation with the Project Manager and client.
  • Ensure all tasks and plans comply with legislation, regulations, and service requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely Bills of Quantities and/or cost plans.
  • Send out tender packages to approved subcontractors, suppliers, and trades.
  • Undertake comprehensive reviews of subcontractor and other pricing.
  • Prepare tender submissions to the client in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest design and innovative construction techniques to provide optimal solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in structural steel and sheet steel estimating for manufacturing/fabrication industry;
  • Sound understanding of welded products and engineering process of producing fabricated steel products;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering/architectural drawings and scope of works;
  • Ability to utilise superior organisational skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Self-motivated individual with initiative to deliver outcomes, meet project deadlines, and accurately read and interpret specifications confidently;
  • Demonstrable experience in compiling tenders and quotes;
  • Negotiation skills in a similar role/position;
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Tertiary qualifications in building, engineering, quantity surveying or related building industry disciplines (desirable);
  • Water storage industry experience (desirable);
  • Minning and large-scale industry and infrastructure experience (desirable).

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience
