Job Title: Patient Care Assistant

This role requires you to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and fulfill their goals.

In this position, you will be responsible for creating a safe and respectful environment for all individuals supported, providing personal and physical care, including grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and assistance with daily living activities. You will also support the use of communication aids and devices, and other personal equipment as required.

You will work closely with clients, their families, and significant others to understand their needs and preferences, and advocate for them to access community services and resources. Your strong interpersonal skills and ability to problem-solve will enable you to adapt to changing situations and make informed decisions.

To be successful in this role, you will require relevant qualifications (minimum Cert III in Disability or Individual Support), strong customer service skills, and the ability to transport clients safely. You must also be aware of human rights and challenges facing individuals with disabilities, and be committed to working within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Code of Conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Support the use of communication aids and devices, and other personal equipment as required.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, their families, and significant others to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Advocate for clients to access community services and resources, promoting their inclusion and participation.
  • Transport clients safely and responsibly, adhering to company policies and procedures.
