Senior Practicing Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Senior Practicing Accountant to join our team in South Yarra. In this role, you will provide expert financial guidance, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and deliver exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Portfolio Management: Lead and manage a portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive accounting, taxation, and advisory services.
  • Financial Analysis & Consulting: Perform complex financial analysis, tax planning, and business consulting to identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.
  • Compliance Oversight: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  • Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique financial goals and challenges, and tailoring strategies to meet their needs.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay informed on changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide accurate and up-to-date advice to clients.
  • Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts by expanding services within existing client relationships and participating in new client acquisition.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to foster long-term partnerships and drive client satisfaction.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide staff to enhance their professional development and performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent) is required.
  • Significant experience (typically 7+ years) as a CA/CPA, focusing on taxation, accounting, and advisory services.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools, including Handisoft, Xero, Xero Practice Manager and MYOB.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to mentor and guide staff.
  • Client-centric mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality service.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy and meeting deadlines.
